4.25. It's accurately described as "supple." It has more almond, marshmallow, rich cacao, and a bit more oxidation than the 8, with added nuance and a smoother nose. Its depth unfolds more expressively and evenly across the midpalate, leading to a lingering finish. It's less overtly sweet but still rich enough for a long aftertaste of gently burnt sugars/maraschino.

About this bottle
While Colombian rum might not be widely recognized by casual drinkers, brands such as Dicatador are highly esteemed within the rum community. Parce, a new U.S.-based private-label brand originating from Colombia (where "parce" is Colombian slang for "good friend"), offers expressions of eight and twelve years old. The Parce 12 is a blend of rums that have aged a minimum of twelve years in ex-bourbon casks.

Smells like chocolate, vanilla, and cinnamon. Tastes like this rum has some similarities to a favorite of mine, the Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva, but with a smoother finish. Very tasty and easy to drink. While sipping is probably the best way to enjoy this amazing spirit, I also mixed it with coke and the results were great. If you find it on sale, don't hesitate and grab a bottle.
A smooth and easy drink with a medium body and finish (not very long). Smells like sugar cake, vanilla (from the bourbon cask), fruity, somewhat sweet, melon, a bit of dark chocolate at the end, a hint of oak, and some lingering tobacco. Not bad for the price; I purchased it at Miami airport duty-free for about $40.
A very smooth rum that carries all the described notes. It's one of, if not the best rum I've ever had. A perfect score.
It's actually rum from Panama, blended and bottled in Colombia. Just another marketing rum.
Dry, but with intense flavors. Soft on the palate. Not sweet.
