Appearance: A pale tangerine hue. Smell: Hints of vanilla and honeycomb mingle with abundant floral scents. The fruit aromas are sweet and saturated, similar to Golden Delicious apples. Taste: A remarkably waxy and smooth texture, with a faint whisper of red wine or sherry. There's also a petrichor-like earthiness. Finish: Sweetness transforms into buttery notes, while the fruit notes become sharper, like citrus. Discernible cask or age influence is difficult to pinpoint (for me, at least); it seems mature, but perhaps not ancient. With water: The aroma presents as warm buttered bread with a spicy fruit character, akin to apple cider. The taste bursts with brown sugar, leading to a richer, caramel-like finish.

The fifth and final sip. I can't understand the 92 score this received on distiller. Truly a disappointing round of five drams. You win some, you lose some. The previous tasting of five drams, which featured Hazelburn 13 Olo and Kilchoman Red, was incredible (I bought both bottles!). These kinds of experiences help you value the exceptional ones. It had an acetone aroma, wasn't harsh for being 54% alcohol, but lacked depth. Adding water made no difference. This time, it's a complete miss. Oh well...Dramfest is in two weeks... with 40 distilleries and 250 whiskies over 10 hours across two days... I'm sure I'll discover plenty of amazing new spirits!

Enjoyed at the famous Stanley Hotel, which made for a memorable dinner. Nose: Sweet malt and bright citrus notes, lemon and vanilla, light honey, and floral undertones. Palate: A warm, medium-bodied experience with a sweet citrus-forward profile, supported by rich malt for balance and a hint of bitterness. Finish: A lasting impression of honey and citrus, with a strong yet pleasant warmth.

Maritime, fig and date reduction aroma. Dense feel. Dry sherry, hearty nuts, funky, oak, and cocoa powder. Lingering, dry finish. Very well-executed malt.

Like bread pudding with Cointreau caramel. Delicious Would we buy: YES
