A friend hits the nail on the head! Sole means sun, and this spirit is quite sunny. It reminds me of bees collecting nectar in a field of wildflowers and orange blossoms at the base of the southern Alps. Cheers to this spirit!

About this bottle
The PUNI range consists of Italian malt whiskies produced at the base of the Alps in the Trentino-Alto Adige region. While Italian whisky is uncommon, this distillery further distinguishes itself by using malted barley alongside malted wheat and locally cultivated rye in its mash bill. Sole undergoes a two-year aging period in ex-bourbon casks, followed by a two-year finishing period in Spanish Pedro Ximenez casks.

Nose: A little alcoholic but gentle. Palate: Blood orange, powdered sugar. Finish: Short and gentle, with a slightly peculiar aftertaste. Overall, a well-balanced and enjoyable beverage.
Not a young whiskey, but still complex and surprising. Wild honey, oak, and orange, as indicated on the label, are clearly present in the aroma and flavor.
Young but good balance. Bourbon casks with cherry. Delicious!
This is a solid, pleasing whisky.
