About this bottle

An Dúlamán Irish Maritime Gin draws inspiration from the Donegal coast, combining six traditional gin botanicals with five locally sourced seaweeds: dulse, dúlamán, carrageen moss, pepper dulse, and sweet kombu. Each bottle's label is handwritten, noting the full moon during the harvest of the elusive pepper dulse seaweed at low tide. The gin's name, An Dúlamán, originates from an Irish folk song about two seaweed collectors.

Teddy Shelby 4.0

This is an excellent small batch Irish gin, authentic and smooth. You can easily detect the juniper and citrus notes, but the maritime character is very prominent. Unfortunately, that's also why it didn't get a perfect score. I've tried maritime gins before, but I found the seaweed to be too savory. I sampled it neat, on ice, and in a G&T. It was good in all preparations, although I ultimately stuck to the tonic to balance it out.

Luke Bayer 3.8

A rich combination of subtle flavors, excellent for sipping neat, in a martini, or over oysters. Sampled in September 2023.
