Loyd Elliott 3.5

Located 600 kilometers from the capital, Belo Horizonte, sits a gem of Minas Gerais bordering the São Francisco River. Januária, a city with nearly 70,000 residents, proudly hosts the state's sole Pantanal and is pursuing UNESCO World Heritage status for Peruaçu National Park, home to the world's largest stalactite. Beyond these natural wonders, Januária is recognized as the origin of Aguardente Caribé. Caribé's history is linked to Januária's. The drink has been produced, bottled, and aged in Amburana barrels for 75 years. The soil, ideal for sugar cane cultivation, combined with the climate, makes the northern Minas Gerais region perfect for this product. Caribé's enduring success extends beyond Brazil's borders, carrying Januária's name to other states and countries. Caribé is aged in amburana, a native Brazilian wood. It's full-bodied with a 48% alcohol content that is imperceptible in the mouth due to excellent integration. The spirit is highly balanced, with the distillate sourced from local producers who have been registered for over two decades and consistently maintain the same quality standard. Some long-standing suppliers have provided this regional product for over 50 years. Source: Cachaçaria Nacional.
