Abraham Bowman Gingerbread Cocoa Finished Bourbon

The aroma presents subtle hints of ginger, nutmeg, and shortbread, though not overpoweringly so. I'm anticipating gingerbread and cocoa based on the label, but honestly, I might not have guessed them without that information. There's also a faint touch of citrus and wood. It's a pleasant scent overall. The taste is smooth with some creamy qualities, cinnamon, and concludes with cacao nibs. Once again, I detect some gingerbread notes, but perhaps that's just my imagination at work. Nevertheless, it's a solid bourbon, offering a classic profile enhanced by autumnal spices. I suspect it would have been noticeably improved at 100 proof, but it remains a good drink. Very drinkable. 2/5/20.

A true delight in a glass. Letting it rest for 15 minutes allows the alcohol burn to subside and the aromas to emerge. The nose offers notes of baking spices, cocoa powder, nutmeg, and brown sugar. The body is light but provides an oily coating and an astringent sensation on the sides of the tongue. The palate is complex, with prominent oak from its aging and barrel variety, followed by various spices and deep cherry notes, finishing with dark chocolate. The finish is light and fades quickly, leaving you wanting more. This is a rare find, and I highly recommend acquiring this unique bottle for your collection.

This is fantastic stuff, with a mild spice on the finish that gives way to a prolonged chocolate and gingerbread stout flavor, which seems quite well-integrated. A truly unique find!

Hmm. The distiller states 90 proof, but the bottle says 110. Yikes! The heat masks most other flavors. Need to sip this for a while.

This is my second favorite from the Abraham Bowman series I've tried (after the Sweet XVI). Very smooth with the ideal amount of spice.

This 2020 release narrowly missed a 90/100 score. It's well-balanced and delicious. An ideal Christmas drink, even in August. It's certainly one-of-a-kind.
