Given the high praise and top score, I sought out this bottle. A store 40 minutes away had two, priced at $24 each, so I picked one up. A fantastic deal, but would the contents match the acclaim? Time to discover. Uncorking revealed a clear blanco, as expected. Pouring a glass brought forth the aroma of freshly cooked agave – a scent I truly adore. While not the absolute pinnacle of aromas, it was pleasant and notably lacked the artificial vanilla notes found in some other brands. The first sip confirmed it's a solid tequila, not mind-blowing, but very pleasing with pure, natural tastes. Would I repurchase it at this price? Absolutely. However, for over $40, I'd likely opt for other choices like El Tesoro or Fortaleza first. It's a commendable non-additive blanco and I'd readily suggest it to anyone searching. 12/6/22

Features a sweet and vibrant agave flavor complemented by bright citrus notes for balance. The finish has pleasant dry herbal undertones, reminiscent of earthier herbs like oregano or sage. A hint of white peppercorn spice is also present. Incredibly flavorful and invigorating. As someone who primarily drinks whiskey and gin, this spirit holds its own against any dry or citrus-forward herbal gin I've encountered. I wish this had been my introduction to tequila. It's one of the finest unaged, clear spirits I've had in a considerable time. I can envision it becoming a regular in my collection. While I could craft a truly unique cocktail with this, I'm reluctant to do so, as it shines brilliantly on its own and would be somewhat diminished in most mixed drinks.
Served neat. It smells of cooked agave, earth, botanicals, citrus, and butter. The palate is full-bodied with agave, mild citrus, white pepper, ripe tropical fruits and florals, and even a whisper of vanilla, cinnamon, and mint. The finish is gently sweet, with some citrus peel, subtle herbs, and soft anise. It's well-rounded with very little alcohol sting. This is a skillfully crafted, naturally flavored tequila with an exceptional taste profile. Reserve this for sipping straight; don't dilute it in cocktails. It's quite satisfying for drinking neat. The initial tasting of the fresh bottle was somewhat muted and underwhelming, but after some exposure to air, the flavors really emerged. It's a bit expensive, but it's a genuinely delicious tequila that is worthwhile for those who prefer a more delicate character.
I enjoy the taste of agave. My tequila exploration began with Añejos, and I've since gravitated back to Blancos. I have about six different ones on hand, all good in their own ways. Seeing the 98 score for 4 Copas from Jack Roberteillo here, I thought, 'A Blanco? Reviewers always favor those extremely aged Añejos.' Thank you, Jack! This spirit is outstanding. I can't fathom how it's so packed with fruit yet so devoid of any bite or harshness. It's a tequila suitable for any time: before, after, during, or in place of a meal.
My eyes widened seeing that 98 score and the two dollar signs for the price. Worried about scarcity, I bought the blanco, a reposado, and an anejo, and the set arrived yesterday. Opening the blanco immediately gave a whiff of fresh agave. The aroma and taste present the grassy, earthy notes of agave, along with a good amount of olive. The finish is very smooth, but it lacks a bit in length and complexity. The overall experience is quite like my favorite blanco, Fuenteseca, but costs half as much.
I'm genuinely quite impressed. To be fair, I bought this based on the reviews here. Plus, for around $50, why not? On the initial pour, I didn't detect much. On the second tasting, I noticed sweet herbal notes, a subtle pepper, and almost a molasses-like sweetness? The flavor profile is astonishing for a blanco.
