Drinking it straight and with an ice cube. Appearance: clear and thick in the glass. The aroma has notes of anise and a light floral sweetness. On the tongue, flavors of anise, white sugar, peppery spice, and a mild ethanol (more so at 90 proof). The texture is thin. Adding an ice cube causes this clear spirit to turn cloudy (like Ouzo or Sambucca) and creates a thicker texture. It's very easy to drink, not harsh or sharp, with a moderate anise flavor. The conclusion is rather short, dry, with a touch of sour anise that vanishes quickly. Compared to other national "raki" type beverages, this is very polished and pure. It lacks any off flavors, ethanol surges, or unusual herbal characteristics. Very enjoyable with a single ice cube, and it's quite visually appealing as it becomes cloudy in the glass.

A complex aperitif/cordial from Turkey, made by double distilling with suma (a clear brandy from raisins and grapes) that has been combined with ethyl alcohol and aniseed. It has an intense beginning with notes of anise and green herbs; while a rich middle adds notes of anise seed, sugar, and herbs; leading to a complex end. December 2018 / January 2019
Straight: Overwhelmingly strong with a forward anise flavor. With cold water: Significantly improved. It turns cloudy and tastes more like a cocktail, making it drinkable.
Excellent anise spirit! I adore it. I consume this frequently.
