About this bottle

Suntory distributes Yamazaki whiskies, named for the Kyoto region where they are produced. The Yamazaki distillery, established by Shinjiro Torii in 1923, was Japan's first single malt whiskey distillery. The 2016 Limited Edition is a combination of single malts aged in American oak casks and ex-bourbon barrels, alongside single malts that have matured for 20 years in European oak, sherry, and port wine casks. It is bottled at 43% ABV.

Jarod Saunders 4.0

A balanced, limited-production, non-age-statement single malt from Japan. It's a mix of older and younger whiskies aged in various barrels and a blend of malt matured in European Sherry & Port casks for up to two years; this was combined with a young malt aged in a Bourbon cask. It presents an aromatic beginning with notes of sherry & port; its rich development adds notes of strawberry, fruit & vanilla; culminating in a balanced, medium-length finish with notes of rye, plum, cinnamon & apple.
