The aroma presents only faint undertones of sweetness, not sugary. The first taste is soft, warm, and inviting. There is no harshness to this and it could readily be a daily drinker. I'm not familiar with Japanese whiskey, but this is an excellent introduction. Highly recommended. Adding ice brings out a note of the mizunara oak cask's character and maintains its smoothness. I can't get enough of this.
