About this bottle

Writers' Tears Single Pot Still is a triple-distilled mixture of malted and unmalted barley. It first matures in ex-bourbon barrels made of American oak. Following this, the whiskey is finished in hogsheads that previously held PX sherry and Marsala wine. Although the whiskey debuted in Ireland, the UK, France, Germany, and Holland in the fall of 2021, the US will get its initial allocation of 3,000 bottles in February/March 2023. (SRP $79.99)

Benjamin Weir 5.0

A malty aroma with an interesting mix of high and mid-range wine perfumes. An exceptional start with smooth malt sweetness amplified by the double ex-wine casks. Grape flavors emerge after a minute but don't overpower the base spirit. This is remarkably like a dessert whiskey, the kind you'd want to keep and share. This latest release is outstanding.
