Barrell Bourbon New Year 2025

Smells like toasted marshmallow, berry jam, and rich caramel, with some winter green and cinnamon rye notes. All these scents are faint, not very intense besides the alcohol. Unsure what to expect on the palate. Interesting... everything transferred from the nose to the palate, which wasn't really anticipated. An enjoyable addition of orange creamsicle is present. The flavors are well-combined, with nothing overpowering. The finish has caramel and vanilla notes. It's a lengthy finish, but the flavors just aren't bold enough. It's good, but it's a bit of a disappointment. The "hug" is very minimal for the proof. Honestly, it just seems dull for a Barrell product. There are many subtle notes on both the nose and palate, but it lacks character and identity. Considering the price, it's good, but I'd much prefer another Barrell product.

Light fruit flavor with minimal spice. Pleasant for sipping and certainly full of flavor. I'd say the finish is good. It's quite decent and acceptable for the cost, but I think I can find a more preferred drink for the same price.

Notes of cherry and oak. The warmth is perfectly balanced, contributing without overpowering, making it easy to drink despite the alcohol content and age (of certain components).

Typical for this brand. High proof. Spicy heat. Definitely tastes like cinnamon.
