Woodinville Triple Barrel Blended Whiskey

Best described as “powerful.” This particular barrel-aged spirit resembles that dependable friend from your hometown, maybe named Ry-Ry, Big John, or Bonesaw. He's typically reserved, favors light beer, and sports the same worn baseball cap daily. He avoids confrontation, preferring to resolve it. This whiskey represents a fusion of contrasting elements. It's intensely shaped by oak, yet the oak character is surprisingly subtle and understated. It's a bourbon that playfully hints at scotch. The Ardbeg influence is delightful. Its color is a robust, deep brown, reminiscent of American leather, not Italian. It has the feel, taste, and scent of a catcher's mitt. This is a unique encounter, not universally appealing, but offering something for diverse palates. It has the potential to bridge the gap between scotch and bourbon enthusiasts, whether in agreement or opposition. Perhaps with more time, I'll discern specific nuances. For now, I'm savoring the experience.

This is my preferred whisky for sipping. The nose offers hints of caramel and vanilla alongside a smoky, charred oak scent. It's smooth on the palate, but the finish is exceptional, leaving a pleasant smoky flavor in your mouth. It evokes the feeling of sitting by a campfire. I find that about an ounce is the right serving size, neat or with a small ice cube. Consuming more makes the smoke too intense. It's meant to be enjoyed in small quantities.

Considering this spirit aged in Ardbeg casks makes me think of a lyric about taking on the essence of what came before. I envision the spirits of the grains having intense dreams of being Vikings raiding villages. This is an excellent spirit available at a good price. Purchase it quickly.

Experienced this at a tasting in Woodinville. Purchased the bottle for a thorough review! While I'm not a Scotch connoisseur, I appreciate the double barrel and wanted to try the triple to complete the set. The Ardbeg barrel provides a unique finish. Enjoying a new flavor experience.

This was a truly enjoyable whiskey. It was well-integrated and offered an adventurous experience. I regret not buying a second bottle. If you happen to find it, grab it.

Remarkable. Incredibly peaty. You can genuinely taste the charred barrel while drinking it. It's excellent if that's what you're seeking.
