Nose: Oak forward, cinnamon, burnt toffee, cured leather, a hint of cherry. Taste: Cinnamon, very dark chocolate, oak, light cherry. Finish: Drying oak, chocolate, leather, moist tobacco. Score: 80/100 Overall: This seemed a bit subdued initially but did improve slightly with time. It's very oak-forward and reminds me somewhat of Elijah Craig, but less sweet. The typical bourbon sweetness is definitely reduced, and it feels somewhat muted and one-dimensional in flavor. I'm unsure if this is due to the warmer weather, but regardless, nothing about this truly impressed me. It's perfectly acceptable and has no real flaws, but it doesn't offer the kind of flavors I usually seek in an interesting bourbon and is rather underwhelming for me. Would I drink it if offered? - Yes Would I specifically order it? - No Would I buy a bottle? - No NOTE - All reviews are done without factoring in price.

About this bottle
Founder's Find represents a new series from Woodinville featuring scarce and unconventional whiskeys. This particular bottling consists of a 12-year-old Tennessee whiskey that had a small portion (4%) of 15-year-old Indiana bourbon incorporated six years into its aging process. Furthermore, the barrels utilized for maturation were reconditioned; these were previously used whiskey barrels that were cleaned, then subjected to fresh toasting and charring. This release is the brand's inaugural sourced whiskey. Bottled at 107 proof, the initial 500 bottles will be available at the distillery's Harvest Release event on October 19, 2024, with online sales to follow shortly thereafter. The suggested retail price is $129.99.

Extremely strong, light vanilla sweetness with tons of burn. I taste wood too but the proof overwhelms everything. Not really my preference.
