The Wood Hat Aged Blue Corn Whiskey is made exclusively from blue corn. It undergoes a 4-month maturation period in toasted white oak barrels, which are constructed from staves cured outdoors for three years.

Spoke with a co-owner and brand ambassador at a tasting in KC. Actually quite pleasant. Certainly something for the WSR/MM enthusiasts. Sweet and smooth, yet still engaging. A crowd-pleaser. I would definitely drink it again, and the price point is very reasonable for a small craft whiskey. Not harsh at all.
The use of a 100% blue corn mash bill results in a very distinctive whiskey. It has a spicy nose, with floral notes and light oak coming through. This leads to a mellow finish with abundant corn flavor that lingers. It's a quality product.
