Berkshire Mountain New England Corn Whiskey

Aroma: Earthy corn and sweet tobacco emerge first. Notes of unsweetened dried cherries and dry grass are just below, with a hint of wood smoke completing it. Taste: Almost identical to the aroma, but a bit more harmonious. A more medicinal cherry blends well with the corn and tobacco. Once again, a puff of smoke is a nice addition. Finish: Warming with a medium duration. Medicinal cherry and wood smoke recede, leaving a satisfying end. Summary: Harmonious and enjoyable to drink. Worth purchasing if you're searching for a good corn whiskey.

It's corn...and you can taste the corn. Not sure if it's local New England corn, but as someone from New England, I can say we aren't known for corn. This regional showcasing of poor corn is everywhere. Underlying wood notes persist throughout. Initial notes of dark cherry and car leather. It's earthy with hints of old leaves. It's charred yet sweet, but lacks significant depth in between.

It has an amber-gold appearance and sharp alcohol legs. The aroma consists of corn, pure alcohol distillate, and burnt wood. The taste features those elements, plus some cornbread. The mouthfeel is between medium and high, and the finish persists moderately. There's also a hint of paper.

I tried this several months ago at a restaurant in Philly. I remember it being buttery, like movie theater popcorn. This was my first time trying corn whiskey. I'll give it a four until I become more familiar with corn whiskey.
