The aroma presents yeasty bread, orange pekoe tea, musty grape, damp wood, and a slight cardboard scent. The flavor is sweeter than the nose suggests, with notes of woody plum, nutmeg, and cinnamon. The cognac influence is particularly noticeable on the finish, almost resembling a woody Armagnac. It's an intriguing whiskey, which is a positive aspect. However, the subtle cardboard note that appears intermittently is a drawback. I hadn't heard anything about this before, but I was really pleased to get the chance to sample it, thanks to a friend.
