About this bottle

Based in Portland, Oregon, House Spirits has been producing spirits since 2004, including Aviation Gin and Krogstad Aquavit, alongside experimental products. Their single malt whiskey, Westward, is crafted with grains from the Pacific Northwest and fermented using an ale yeast. It undergoes double pot distillation and is matured in new, lightly charred oak barrels of standard size. Each bottle is marked with its bottle and batch number and is sold in 375ml containers.

This is an excellent American single malt. It's very smooth, with subtle oak notes integrated with the dominant malt, vanilla, and honey flavors. I truly believed I was drinking an Irish whiskey until a relative pointed out the bottle. Fantastic stuff and very enjoyable neat. I just wish it wasn't $50 for a 375ml bottle. Considering it's only two years old, it possesses an amazing flavor profile, but at this price, I can't justify it over Stranahan's or many other single malts available. A perfect score for the flavor.
