Review transferred from Barreled from November 2016 Sampled this at my brother-in-law's residence in Windsor. Wolfhead is a craft distillery from Amherstburg, Ontario. This is batch number 2. I don't have much information on this distillery yet, so I can only speculate on certain aspects. Given it's marketed as a craft distillery, I'd assume it has natural color and is non-chill filtered. The color is a light amber, and it's bottled at 40% ABV. The aroma is a bit sharp initially but mellows considerably in the glass. Unfortunately, there's a lemongrass-scented humidifier in the room right now, which is hindering my ability to properly review this. I can say it's quite pleasant. Orange peel, toffee, caramel, some vanilla, and cinnamon. Very subtle. The taste is also light but very smooth. Citrusy with subtle oak notes. I suspect the humidifier is significantly impacting the flavor, so I'll limit my comments there. It's good stuff regardless. Not characteristic of a Canadian whisky, not as sweet or as heavy on the rye. More akin to a bourbon, but not quite a bourbon. 3.25

Money wasted. It tastes like they aged this product with wood staves.
