Nose: Sweet, fruity (apple and berries), like hard candy. Palate: Oily & sweet, caramelized fruit, oak, vanilla, pepper, hazelnut, orange zest. A very subtle hint of peat. Finish: Sweet, honeyed, peppery. A sour note on the aftertaste. This tastes young but maintains good complexity for an immature spirit. There's an unusual, though pleasant, combination of sourness, sweet wine, and a peppery youthful whisky. Very easy to drink. Ranked 5th out of the six samples, receiving 9% of the final vote for favorite of the night. 53% of those present enjoyed the whisky.
