About this bottle

Widow Jane's Baby Jane Bourbon utilizes a unique heirloom corn varietal named Baby Jane, cultivated a short distance north of the Widow Jane Mines in Upstate New York. This corn, a hybrid of Bloody Butcher Red and Wapsie Valley Yellow, is processed, fermented, and distilled in Brooklyn and Kentucky. The bourbon is aged for 4 to 6 years, bottled unfiltered at 91 proof (45.5% ABV), and became available nationwide in June 2024 for $50 MSRP.

Jamel Dyer 3.5

A gift from my son for Father's Day. I'm detecting notes of baking spices on the palate and other spices in the finish. There are also hints of earth and leather in the mid-palate. The finish resembles a rye whiskey with a spicy note at the end. The heirloom corn contributes flavors more akin to a single malt rather than a typical bourbon. I find myself returning for another taste to discover more nuances. This is a remarkably good and intriguing beverage.

Ryann Shelby 4.3

The texture is exceptionally smooth and oily, starting with vanilla notes and mellowing into a sweet caramel finish. I highly recommend it and hope this becomes a permanent fixture for Widow Jane. The price is incredible for the quality!

Reyna Finch 4.0

The aroma is intensely sweet, like honey, which carries through to the taste with a surprising burst of caramel. It's not quite like the Widow Jane, but it's satisfying for such a small... drink... into my mouth!

Richard Dailey 4.3

The best of all the widow janes expressions. Priced very fairly. For $50, this is easily my new go-to daily drink.

Danika Rodriguez 3.8

Not bad. I prefer the unaged version. But this is acceptable.

Vito Vest 3.0

Acceptable. I would likely choose a different option for the price.
