About this bottle

Debuting in September 2016, Westland Single Cask Release #3824 utilizes the distillery's characteristic 5-malt mashbill, comprising Washington select pale malt, Munich malt, extra special malt, pale chocolate malt, and brown malt, along with their preferred Belgian brewer's yeast. This single malt first underwent maturation in new American oak casks before a 3-month finishing period in a cask that previously held rum. A total of 168 bottles were produced, with 150 exclusively offered at Westland Distillery, located in Seattle's SoDo neighborhood.

Regina Barreto 5.0

Awesome liquor. At about five years old, this full-proof spirit is smoother than anticipated for its near 55% alcohol content. Bold dark sugar and raisin aromas are present, with a warm, deep taste that exhibits a chocolatey sweetness and hints of caramel, wood, and baking spices. I'm glad I reside in Seattle so I can grab a bottle (or three).

Aged in sherry casks, it ends on a sweet note. My mother gave it her stamp of approval!

Stewart Blankenship

Cask strength at 61.7% ABV.
