A sophisticated Single Malt Scotch from Speyside, Scotland, matured in a combination of first-fill Bourbon and mature Sherry barrels for 25 years. It presents an aromatic beginning with hints of orchard fruits, dark berries, caramel, and nuts; its rich development introduces notes of green apples, blackberries, polished oak, honey, roasted nuts, candied citrus peel, and ginger-infused raisins; culminating in a well-rounded, moderately long finish with traces of sea salt and bonfire smoke. Truly excellent Appearance - copper with a moderate body Smell - fruit, sugared apples, confectioners' sugar, caramel, possibly some tartness Taste - a bit smoky, rich and sweet, a whisper of chocolate Aftertaste - initially smoke, then a rush of caramel waffles appears, caramel, mulling spices, a touch of cinnamon, a lengthy aftertaste that keeps evolving This one is strictly for special occasions
This is likely the best scotch I've ever had. I'd rate it a 5, but the aftertaste isn't quite as long as I'd prefer.
A little too sharp on the palate for my liking. Tastes of oak with a smoky aftertaste.
Full-bodied, peppery, develops more wood influence with a splash of water.
Really pleasant and easy to drink
