About this bottle

Westland Reverie Fig. 1 marks the debut in this limited-edition series from the Seattle-based distillery. Each new release is designed with a flexible composition, rather than being blended to match a predefined flavor profile from previous bottlings. Fig. 1's mash bill incorporates three varieties of malted barley: five malt, Washington malt, and peated malt. Six different barrel types were utilized in the whiskey's production, including those previously holding bourbon and ex-Moscatel wine. For a detailed breakdown, consult the brand's website for a helpful diagram illustrating barrel specifics. After aging for 49 months, Fig. 1 resulted in 900 bottles. This offering is exclusively available directly from the distillery, beginning November 3, 2018.

Devin Albert 3.0

A bit uninspiring. This has earthy notes that remind me of soy sauce. The flavor is very straightforward with several components, but many are obscured by the peat and difficult to discern. It resembles the characteristics of a smoky dessert wine.

Carlos Shi 4.8

Still quite enjoyable. It seems to satisfy all the right aspects for me. This is a good illustration of how various elements can come together harmoniously, creating a more complete experience.

Shannon Baum 5.0

I really enjoy this distillery! It's a little pricey, but the quality justifies it.

Eloise Motley 4.0

Inviting aroma and a very balanced taste. It has ripe stone fruit.
