Tipperary Watershed Single Malt

A subtle, Single Malt Irish Whiskey crafted by Malt Master Stuart Nickerson for Tipperary Boutique Distillery in Munster, Ireland. 'Each bottling is restricted to six casks & each is matured in first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels. It has a delicate beginning with hints of fresh grain, vanilla & apple; while a balanced middle adds notes of vanilla fudge, black pepper, and sultanas; that leads to a smooth, warming, & buttery end with traces of grape & honey. April / August 2019 / September 2022

This is a dependable, quality Irish whiskey. It has notes of vanilla, coconut, spice, spearmint, and mandarin orange, with licorice on the finish. It seems a bit young, with a noticeable sharpness and burn that's more than just spicy from the barrel. It's enjoyable, but it could benefit from more aging time to reach its full potential.

Nose: Turmeric, butter, acetone, light berries. Palate: Raisins, sugar, wax, ginger. Refreshing and light. Finish: Somewhat citrusy and bitter. A very brief finish with hints of demerara sugar and butter.

Smells yellow. Aroma: Fruity, white wine, grape/plum, vanilla. Taste: slightly harsh, peppery, bitter-sour. Finish: bland, fruity-sweet.

Mild, sweet and mellow. Gentle warmth and not much burn for its strength.

Tipperary I'm let down by this Irish Whisky. A special edition??? Really.
