The aroma is subtle. However, the taste delivers marshmallow, mixed berry pie, apricot, and traces of chocolate, followed by a very smoky finish. It's quite enjoyable, and I'm eagerly anticipating the debut of their official peated version.

About this bottle
Westland released two single cask bottlings in July 2014 to commemorate its inaugural Peat Week. This expression is aged for two years in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and is made with 100% Scottish Highland peated barley. Westland Distillery distinguishes its American single malt offerings through an evident aspiration to draw inspiration from Scotch whisky while forging a distinct identity.
