Aroma: Malty, biscuit, a hint of red wine. Taste: Rich, full, spicy, peppery. The Syrah comes through with a dry, matte finish. It feels similar to a Glendronach but with a bit more chocolate and hints of pleasant bitterness like an espresso. I waited three years to try this and was not disappointed! Often I'm not a fan of red wine finishes, but this adds nice subtle complexity, perhaps even a little too subtle. The best aspects of what I like in a dry dark red wine can be detected.
