This independent bottling highlights Westland's five-malt mash and is not for beginners. It requires patience and a suitable amount of water. At first, it is quite reserved and sharp, but the aroma blossoms with vanilla powder, white pepper, and subtle citrus. Notes of yeast braid, cider, and melon emerge. It gets better and changes over time. The taste moves to grapefruit, fresh apples, and ginger, followed by spicy, floral, and succulent flavors. Adding water brings out ripe peaches. Lemon peel, pears, and herbs remain in the smooth finish. A skillfully crafted single malt! RATING: 3.7/5.0 stars ≙ 85 pts → ABOVE AVERAGE [+]
