About this bottle

This distillery in Central Virginia has not yet begun distilling operations. While their facility is under construction, they are offering a six-year-old malt whisky from Scotland's Highland region. The spirit was acquired on the brokerage market after tasting approximately 30 different whiskies. It is finished for three to four months in used barrels from a local Virginia winery that produces a port-style wine. Note: This product is no longer manufactured. The distillery now produces a whisky from a malt mash, blended with 100% malted barley from Scotland. Refer to Virginia Distilling Co. Port Cask Finished Virginia-Highland Whisky.

Rene Gann 3.0

The aroma presents a subtle smokiness, a hint of grain, and faint fruit notes, as one would expect from a scotch. The taste offers mild sweetness, fruity undertones, a whisper of smoke, and a warming sensation that coats the palate, leading to a lingering stone fruit finish. Quite intriguing and satisfying.

Lenora Adcock 3.8

Oak, vanilla, and caramel initially. It's a bit hot-tasting for its proof. Some pleasant buttery notes, and the finish has a noticeable warmth.

Alec Ramey 4.0

Smells like holiday baked goods. Tastes of caramel and spice, with a strong initial impact, finishing cleanly and fully.

Emory Nino 5.0

This truly tastes like a scotch, with a faint hint of peat. It has malt sweetness and is very good overall.

Ruthie Forman 3.0

It's decent, though the initial alcohol presence is quite potent.

Mina Hammond 3.5

Nose: resembles apple juice, vanilla malt
