While in LA for work, I decided to try something local, or at least from the state. I spotted this bottle while enjoying complimentary appetizers as a rewards member. A part of me felt guilty for consuming so much complimentary food and drink, but another part wanted to experience something different, even if it was whiskey infused with black truffles. I'm not sure it works. The aroma is unusual, featuring truffles. It smells earthy, like wet soil. The taste follows suit with more truffle notes, tasting earthy and almost gamey. I don't think I'll be buying a bottle soon. I'd rather have my truffles on pizza, pasta, or eggs, and enjoy whiskey on its own.

I'm quite fond of this! It's easy to drink, and I don't find the need to add water. Is it expensive? Yes. But it's a real treat!
