Vikre Boreal Cedar is a gin created from an infusion of botanicals including staghorn sumac, juniper, black currants, grapefruit peel, ginger, and cinnamon. Following distillation, this botanical infusion, referred to as a "tea," is toasted over red cedar wood. The spirit is bottled at 90 proof.

Pleasant tasting gin, with prominent cedar notes on both the nose and palate, alongside a strong juniper presence. It's somewhat one-dimensional, with not much else going on, but the cedar offers versatility: it can be perceived as spicy and warm for winter or fresh and green like a forest in the summer (when I sampled it). Quite acceptable, really.
