Brooklyn Gin

I finally had an opportunity to try this Gin and while it is very smooth and has a great combination of botanicals but it is a bit expensive for my liking. I like the juniper aroma and citrus finish, but it still has a peppery finish that is very similar to Tanqueray 10. However, it is more expensive. It does make a very good Gin and Tonic but it is easy to overpower the gin. In a Martini, I had to use a little less vermouth because the first one I made I mainly tasted the vermouth. It is quite good but a little too expensive for the quality. Now if you like Tanqueray 10 you will most likely enjoy this. Drink and enjoy.

This is an excellent gin for a G&T - it is very juniper and citrus forward but also possesses some peppery qualities. It has strength but is very smooth and harmonious on the tongue - even when tasted neat it is quite invigorating. With tonic the citrus is amplified with lemon peel. A very well-crafted artisanal gin that supports its slightly elevated price.

It's wet and heavy with orange oils, and therefore, it makes a poor martini, which is where I first sampled it. It performs much better in a citrusy Vesper and presumably in a G&T and served neat. It's not bad, but it's not my preference. I do appreciate the heavy, brass-like cork that could probably knock someone out from a significant distance if you were throwing it with enough force.

A crisp, Small Batch Gin from Brooklyn Craft Works Warwick in Brooklyn, New York. It has a thick & somewhat aromatic beginning with notes of juniper & lemons; while a rich middle section adds deep citrus, orange, tangy lime, lemon & floral notes; that led to a long & mellow end with sugar & sweet pine. This gin has such wonderful flavor and mouthfeel that it's almost enjoyable sipped neat. The fresh juniper is potent, nicely balanced by the citrus notes. While it might not be ideal for every cocktail style, this gin is intriguing enough to be worth purchasing and experimenting with.

Lemon and floral on the nose. It's straightforward in flavour, juniper forward, with lemongrass, anise, vanilla. Soft on the palate, like mango flesh. Just not that exciting, but the bottle sure looks good on the shelf.
