My initial experience was not favorable. I tried it again the following evening and was pleasantly surprised. Pour a few sips' worth. Add a splash of water. Let it rest for a few minutes. The first sip will be quite alcoholic. Subsequent sips will reveal its complexities.

The aroma is dominated by alcohol. Cognac is immediately prominent and remains the focus throughout. New oak accompanies it. The finish is warm but not excessively so.
