Following Christmas, a tasting of Western European Brandy (one each from Portugal, Spain, and France). Next is a new Armagnac I haven't tried before. I appreciate the bold flavors found in other Armagnacs I've sampled, and I've been anticipating this one. Nose: Elegant. Orchard fruits, apple pie, and creme brulee. Palate: Berries, caramel apple, peach, and brown sugar. Finish: Cherries, almonds, and nougat. Fades rather quickly. This is the first Armagnac I've encountered that is gentle and well-rounded. It embodies all my favorite desserts without any trace of heat or harshness. If I see this produced again, I'll definitely buy more bottles.
