The aroma is full of bright notes of birch and root beer, plus cinnamon sugar pecans that have been toasted. It has a medium-heavy body with abundant toasted nut flavors, subtle roast coffee bean, and pecan pie. You would expect this to be overwhelmingly sweet, but the generous amount of rye maintains balance. The lengthy, sweet finish has a hint of new leather at the end. A remarkable experience.

About this bottle
This whiskey is one of three in Traverse City Whiskey Co.'s "Finishing Series," each featuring a different TCWC whiskey with a unique barrel maturation for up to 12 months. The Sherry Barrel Finish starts as a high-rye bourbon with a mash bill of 60% corn, 36% rye, and 4% malted barley, aged for 5 years. It then undergoes nearly 12 months of finishing in PX sherry wine barrels and is bottled at 95 proof. All three whiskeys in the series were offered at TCWC's tasting rooms and online starting in March 2023. (SRP $59.99)
