Surprisingly, this brandy is comparable to Torres 10 and Torres 15. However, a key difference is its price point, around $7 a bottle when I acquired it. The aroma has notes of chocolate, perhaps a hint of coffee, and berries, reminiscent of chocolate-covered raspberries. Through my extensive tasting (comparing this, Torres 10, and Torres 15), I've concluded that this chocolate-covered raspberry flavor is characteristic of Torres brandy. There's also a scent of spice cake, along with basic grape and some vanilla. A faint alcohol note is detectable. The aroma isn't overpowering but is pleasant. The taste mirrors the chocolate-covered raspberries, which is the dominant impression. Beneath that, there's a subtle spice. It's somewhat sweet and has a generic grape flavor, but this is balanced by the slight bitterness of the dark chocolate notes. The finish emphasizes dark chocolate with less raspberry, though some remains. When compared directly with Torres 10, the similarity is striking. The overall flavor profile is nearly identical, but the 10 offers more body and richness, whereas this one is a bit thinner and leans more towards a standard grape spirit flavor. (My memory suggests Torres 15 was even fuller and richer, but it's been some time since I tasted it and I don't have it for comparison.) Nevertheless, this is not unpleasant at all. It's enjoyable and easy to drink. So, while it may not be highly complex, its cost was $7. It might be a touch too sweet, but again, it cost $7. It's augmented by alcohol and mild grape notes, but the price was $7. As you may know, this bottle cost me $7. At that price, I would absolutely repurchase it, and it might be one of the best value spirits I've encountered across any category. The 10 and 15-year versions are priced around $17 and $27, respectively. Online sources suggest $12 might be a more common price for this one. If that were the case and the 10 remained $17, I might consider upgrading – and I might do so anyway – as the 10 is definitively superior. Still, this one would be tempting. This is certainly not a fancy or intricate brandy, but at $7, it doesn't need to be, and at that price (or even slightly higher), it's definitely worth trying.
