This bottling represents the third release in the Five Virtue series, following Wood and Fire, which debuted in early 2017. Earth possesses a peaty character, which is uncommon for Tomatin. The distillery produces peated whisky during the final two weeks of each year but seldom releases it under the Tomatin label. Matured in refill hogsheads, this single malt is presented without chill filtration and with no added color. Six thousand bottles are available.

The aroma is intensely sweet. The palate remains subtle throughout the finish, despite lacking complexity. I'd consider this an excellent starting point for those new to peated whiskies!
