This whisky is part of a series of age-stated single malts from Tomatin, including 8, 12, and 40-year-old expressions, released in September 2016 for the European Travel Retail market. It should not be confused with the Tomatin 15 Year (43% ABV) that was discontinued in 2014. This Highland malt was matured in American oak barrels and is bottled at 46% ABV.

A fantastic whisky! The nose has vanilla cake with some honey notes. The taste is spicy at first, but the vanilla, honey, and cocoa create a delightful experience. The finish has dark red wine tannins, along with some honey and cocoa.
Very pale in color. The aroma is intensely floral. The taste is also floral with a hint of honey. The finish becomes slightly bitter and oaky. Adding a little water helps to warm it up. Very enjoyable.
This was preferable to the 18; the 46% ABV complemented the overall character well
Malty cereal aroma, with spices and grains accompanied by heat in the taste. The finish is slightly dry and short.
A perennial favorite. Abundant flavor, presumably from first-fill bourbon casks.
