While exploring locally, I discovered a Japanese whisky bar. Naturally, I had to examine their selections. The barkeep recommended their most intriguing choice from the menu, Togouchi 15. Togouchi 15 is a combination of Canadian and Scottish whiskies matured in a Japanese railway tunnel. The initial smell has a slight ethanol sting, lovely honey notes, and a hint of toasted grains. Later, the aroma develops with more profound richness and citrus. The taste is light yet complex: notes of oak and honey, plum, a bit grassy and vibrant. It has a medium, very smooth finish. I would happily have a drink of this anytime, but I don't think it justifies the high cost. 8.5/10

A blended whisky from the Togouchi lineup, aged 15 years, crafted by Chugoku Jozo in Japan. They acquire whisky from Scotland and Canada, then mature it in a railway tunnel. It presents with a soft pastry aroma accented by cinnamon, pear, and a hint of dry earth. Its rich character includes notes of nut malt, milk chocolate, and caraway, leading to a lengthy conclusion with hints of peppercorn, vanilla, and peat. October 2017 / August 2018 / 2022

It tastes like extremely diluted whisky. It would be a great whisky for someone who claims they dislike whisky. If you enjoy whisky, you'll likely desire something more – and you can find that for a much lower price.

Lia Faulkner 3.8

A very uniform blended whisky. Sadly, it's overpriced when compared to similar options.
