Wilford Clemens 3.5

Aroma - Baked apples, orange jam, pears, caramel, burnt toffee Taste - Apple fritters, subtle bitter apple seeds/stems, honey, salt, cinnamon Aftertaste - Apples, subtle bitter crushed seeds/stems, honey Score - 82/100 Final Thoughts - As this is a blend of the Kanosuke single malt and their malted + unmalted barley Hioki pot still; it does indeed capture characteristics from both. Unfortunately, it seems to have taken on the least desirable traits from each. The aroma felt somewhat muted and while there was a pleasant apple note throughout, it was overshadowed by a slightly distracting bitterness from crushed apple seeds/stems, with nothing else present to balance that bitterness. The mouthfeel felt rather unimpressive, and while not outright bad, it just seemed like the unique qualities of each individual component were lost in this blend. Would I drink it if offered? - Yes Would I specifically order it? - No Would I buy a bottle? - No NOTE - All evaluations are made without considering price.

Gonzalo Dickson 4.0

Starts with a Japanese soju aroma, transitioning to sherry. Very unique.
