THREE SHIPS 12 YEAR (MASTER DISTILLER'S PRIVATE COLLECTION)

Nose: Antiseptic, salt, light wood smoke, light peat. Palate: Vanilla, oak, fruit/berries, boiled sweets, light spice (clove & white pepper). Finish: Slightly sour, wood, vanilla, light char. Sweet berries, becoming sour in the aftertaste. A fairly standard dram overall. Quite fruity on the palate, with a subtle wood note on the finish. This brings to mind a Tobermory without the waxy texture. Distilled in 2007 using imported malt. Ranked joint third out of the seven drinks, receiving 5% (1 vote) of the final vote for favorite of the night. 74% (14 votes) of those present indicated they enjoyed the spirit.

Aroma: brass, grass, oily rags, a little smoky Body: sweet, smoky, popcorn, pepper, a hint of vanilla and smoke Finish: quite short with gentle smoke Surprisingly pleasant initial taste of sweet and smoky notes, but feels unbalanced due to excessive pepper
