A very typical aroma for a white rye, with sweet and herbal grain notes. The palate is smooth for a rye. Green grass, herbs, and mild spice on the rear palate. The finish is brief with spice. I found it light and wished for a proof above 90. Overall, a promising rye. Eager to sample the aged variant.

About this bottle
Andrew Martin began constructing a custom hybrid pot still in his garage years before founding Thistle Finch Distillery in 2013. This unaged whiskey is subjected to double distillation in that same still, employing a high rye mash bill, and is presented at 80 proof.

Skip this one. Off-putting aroma precedes a poor flavor. Certainly not suited for a Manhattan.
Strange. Won't purchase again. Very citrusy
It's adequate. I would not repurchase.
