The Senator Single Barrel - Barrel Proof (Brown Water Social Club/Cloud 9 Liquor Barrel Pick)

This spirit is remarkably easy to drink and smooth considering its alcohol content. I'm tasting the initial pour over a large ice cube. The aroma reveals caramel, vanilla, cloves, and unripe banana. The palate offers a smooth spice complemented by light vanilla and caramel, along with the unripe banana, and introduces subtle oak and leather. This is a refined spirit with multiple layers of spice and a hint of macadamia nut on the finish. I will definitely purchase another bottle of this barrel selection! After more than two months open, it's even better than the first few drinks. The ethanol harshness on the nose and palate has mellowed, revealing warm bread notes and slightly riper banana than earlier in the bottle. This is an excellent rye!
