I've been quite critical of Macallan, likely because it hasn't justified its price. I enjoy this one, but it still has that characteristic Macallan bitter finish; however, the value for money has definitely improved. I'd rate it 3.75.

On the nose, there's oak, maple, and a hint of fruit. The palate brings smooth malt, caramel, and a touch of black pepper. It finishes nicely but is a bit brief, feeling very smooth and not lingering.
