Nose: Citrus, late summer fruit compote, jam, cinnamon, caramel, honey, and toasted nuts Palate: Freshly made jam fruit, dark plums, cherries, strawberry. Malty and somewhat aromatic - like Earl Grey tea, oak, vanilla, maple syrup, and demerara sugar Finish: Moderate length. Anise, leather, and black tea. More of the plum jam and roasted nuts. A creamy texture and very rich sherry influence. Fettercairn Distillery Distilled: 05-08-2007 Cask: First-fill ex-Pedro Ximenes hogshead 1 of 263 bottles I genuinely enjoy this pour. Standard Fettercairn releases can be quite delightful, light drams, but they often lack body for my preference. This possesses all the flavor of the PX Cask standard release, but adds a layer of creamy, luscious, caramel and enhances the berry jam. Excellent structure. Faint hints of spice and a solid oak foundation. A superb dram!
