The Busker Single Grain (Single Collection)

The aroma has a peculiar fruitiness that transitions from oily to dried to stale and back again, presented on a metallic/mechanical base with traces of dessert sweetness floating around; The palate is almost excessively sweet but pulls back from that point due to some earthy notes and loses most of that metallic quality; The finish disappears quickly and leaves a banana chip flavor.

An intriguing aroma with components of fresh corn, vanilla, and a hint of citrus. In other words, sweet. And the flavor provides an even greater sugar rush. This is somewhat controlled by the oaky edge, but it's still a malt-forward profile. A short, sweet finish with a baked goods character. It's an ideal starting point for a beginner, but overall, not what we anticipate from an Irish spirit.

I felt this one had potential but ultimately missed the mark. I had high expectations because single grain bottlings often reveal some wonderful flavors. To be honest, I was hoping it would be similar to how the Teeling single grain is significantly better than the standard version, but this isn't.

Aromas of hay, oak, dried pear, vanilla, and a subtle hint of caramel are present. The texture is oily but not heavy. The palate reveals more vanilla, pear, and hay, complemented by notes of pine, honey, and lemon. The finish is of moderate length. 3.00/5.00 – Good (consumed neat)
