Poured neat in a Glencairn at Jack Rose Saloon in DC. I've recently developed an interest in BIBs and was eager to try this, but it's not sold in Virginia. The nose is mild, with caramel and oak. It's sweet, without heat. The taste is sharper, though not excessively so, with mild spice, toffee, and a lingering bittersweet quality. Decent. 7/4/19

About this bottle
Old Fitzgerald, a product of Heaven Hills Distillery, is an economical, everyday whiskey. Its mash bill incorporates wheat as a secondary grain, replacing rye. Wheated bourbons are generally recognized for their smoother and lighter profiles compared to bourbons made with rye. This whiskey also holds the distinction of being "Bottled in Bond," a designation indicating that the whiskey is produced and bottled by a single distiller within one distilling season, aged for a minimum of four years in a bonded U.S. government warehouse, and bottled at 100 proof.

Nose: Vanilla, butter, and a touch of cinnamon. Body: Toast with jelly and caramel. Finish: The vanilla reappears prominently here with a hint of milk chocolate. Consumed on the rocks at Bullit’s Brewery and BBQ. It's a good drink served with ice.
Loads of rich vanilla and milk chocolate. Good texture on the palate, rather full and slick. I found it a bit overly sweet. It's enjoyable initially, but I couldn't finish it.
This was acceptable and a solid purchase. Distinct spicy, nutty, and woody characteristics were present throughout the aroma and the taste. It requires some effort to locate this one, though.
This is good. Abundant vanilla sweetness, a hint of walnut-like nuttiness, and a little spice. If you enjoy wheated bourbons, try this one.
An excellent bottled-in-bond bourbon made with wheat, particularly considering its price. It's fairly sweet with a noticeable amount of vanilla.
