Tequila Rose Strawberry Cream

I was worried about this 50ml bottle, considering it contains dairy and requires refrigeration after opening, which makes me question how long it has been on my shelf unopened. I attempted to freeze the small bottle to see if it would turn pink, but after 15 minutes, there was no color change. I suspect the nib bottles may not have the same labeling capability. Nevertheless, I served it very cold. As someone who dislikes milk, low-proof spirits, and poor-quality tequila mixto (which I'm quite sure this is), I will strive to be objective in this review. The color is alarming if you anticipate an alcoholic beverage; the opaque black bottle now makes sense in retrospect because the resulting creamy strawberry milk color is unsettling and unappealing. The aroma is dominated by sweet strawberry candies and a hint of cream, reminiscent of the flavor in a Werther's caramel & cream candy rather than actual cream. There's a subtle note of general citrus and a surprisingly detectable, almost sharp, ethanol aroma, which is quite shocking at this low proof. The taste begins with a hint of ethanol, but it's not overpowering or unpleasant, even for someone completely sober. The texture is indeed very creamy, immediately delivering a concentrated sweet strawberry candy flavor, almost to the point of being sour and citric. I can't discern any contribution from the tequila, as the strawberry flavor completely masks it and makes it undetectable. I believe labeling this as "tequila" likely deters more customers than it attracts. The spirit's flavor doesn't sufficiently integrate to be missed if replaced with vodka. Furthermore, many consumers of low-proof beverages have had negative experiences with cheap tequila (unlike vodka), and would probably avoid anything containing it. That said, the strawberry flavor here is intense, sweet, and creates a delightful candy-like dessert liqueur that is unmatched, as far as I know. I'm surprised by how much I enjoy it. If you don't have a similar cordial or liqueur in your collection, I recommend trying it, especially since the price is likely very appealing.

The aroma brings to mind strawberry marshmallows and sweet cream, with a touch of alcohol, likely tequila. The flavors aren't quite the Strawberry Quik I expected, but rather a more subdued strawberry with a vanilla finish. The finish is brief. The mouthfeel is full. It has just the right amount of warmth to make it enjoyable. It's an interesting and distinctive spirit.

Tastes like strawberry milk with the consistency of eggnog. I mixed it with club soda, but it would also be excellent in cream soda or as a milkshake.

We enjoyed this during a weekend trip with friends. It was smooth, creamy, and sweet, with no artificial fruit taste. Very pleasant.

Very viscous, tastes like strawberry milk or Melona. Unpleasant, somewhat sweet, but definitely not good.
