About this bottle
The Teeling Wonders of Wood series showcases limited edition bottlings that utilize unique wood types for maturation. This second release, Virgin Portuguese Oak, is a single pot still whiskey composed of 50% malted barley and 50% unmalted barley, triple distilled at their Dublin distillery. It is matured entirely in virgin Portuguese oak casks. Consistent with prior WoW editions, this bottling supports the Tree Council of Ireland's reforestation efforts with native Irish trees. Availability began in June 2023. (SRP $99.99)

Opened this with my spouse on our anniversary. Celebrating our wedding and our two favorite vacations together - Ireland (where we visited Teeling) and Portugal. A beautiful whiskey with the perfect context
Smells like blackberries and an attic; honey and corn notes, finishing with light honey, heat, and oak; it's decent but not unique and overpriced; has a strange bourbon-like taste
Aroma is not pleasant, taste is full but complex.
Quite a surprise!
A hint of pear.
