The unique name of this blended Scotch originates from a discovery in 1958: a rare blend of 18 single malt and 4 single grain Scotch whiskies was found in 10 casks in a warehouse. The whisky, distilled in 1954, followed a recipe from the 1800s. A portion was bottled in 1966 for the warehouse owners and their friends, with the assistance of six accountants and lawyers, leading to the name "Syndicate 58/6." It aged for 12 years using the solera method and completed its final year of maturation in Oloroso Sherry butts.

I received this as part of a Master of Malt Drinks by the Dram gift set at Christmas. Since it wasn't listed here at the time, I didn't submit a review and I no longer have my tasting notes. Therefore, I regret that I cannot recall any specific details, other than my overall impression was very positive. If I happen upon a bottle in the future, I will provide a revised review and rating.
Smell: Brine, wood, fortified wine, sweet cream/fruit Sip: Wood, astringency, orchard fruit/sweet cream/stone fruit
An interesting tale, but it doesn't relate to the product at all... unfortunately, quite weak.
